Lou "Brewski".
As the most sensitive and passionate member of the Crew, Lou "Brewski"
serves as the Touchdown Lounge's ambassador and "spiritual"
leader. Wanting to make sure everyone is happy, Lou also acts
as the TD Lounge "concierge" fielding all guest requests
to join the TD Lounge tailgate and coordinating weekly food and
other assignments.
Louie loves his "vino" and "Buca" although
he has been known to experience a problem or two with Tom Cardone’s
Bloody Marys and Bourbon Street Hurricanes from Pat O'Brien’s.
As you can tell from his nickname – Lou’s favorite player is #54
Tedy Bruschi. While Lou claims it is Tedy's passion and intensity,
the rest of the crew thinks it has something to do with his Italian
heritage. Lou is also intensely passionate, superstitious and
believes in fan Karma. Indeed, Lou is adamant that he was responsible
for Drew Bledsoe's record setting comeback in the second half
of the November 13, 1994 game versus Minnesota. With three minutes
to go in the second quarter and the Patriots playing terribly
in the first half, without saying a word, Lou got up and walked
out of the stands. When he returned shortly before the start of
the second half, his only explanation for his abrupt departure
was that he had to talk some sense into Bledsoe and the team.
As you know, Drew went on to complete 45 of 70 passes (an NFL
record) sparking a dramatic win (remember Kevin Turner’s catch
in the corner of the end zone in overtime?).
In 2003, Lou's superstitious nature also prevented him from jumping
on the Houston SB bandwagon too early (we won’t even mention the
certain t-shirt he felt compelled under his Bruschi jersey). When
the rest of the Touchdown Lounge crew was making plans for a trip
to Houston (the others purchased plane fare to Houston after the
Pats won their 8th game), not wanting to jinx the team’s winning
steak, Lou stuck by the team's one game at a time motto (of course,
having cheered the team on in New Orleans in 1997 and again in
2002, Lou bought his airfare and flew to Houston on Saturday).
While Lou spent Super Bowl Weekend wandering around the streets
of Houston muttering “one game at a time”, the rest of the crew
told him that the Super Bowl was the "one game he was talking
about all year." After the second Lombardi trophy was safely
in BB’s hands -- it was hugs and kisses for everyone!!!!!!!
